Biomas a um Clique

Mercado Libre reinforces its commitment to entrepreneurs and SMEs in the bioeconomy

A dedicated sociobioeconomy showcase features products from businesses supported by the Biomas a um Clique (Biomes in a Click) program.

In partnership with the Amazon Socio-Bioeconomy Business Association (Assobio) and the Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), Mercado Libre presented the "Bioeconomy Showcase" and "Lojas Brasil Biomarket" initiatives at COP 30 in Belém, bringing together products from entrepreneurs supported by the Biomas a um Clique program. Along with the showcases, the event also included themed panels and offered logistical support to more than 20 entrepreneurs so they could participate.

Created in 2019, the initiative covers four Brazilian biomes — the Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, and Atlantic Forest. Since then, it has generated R$17.7 million in transactions in the country and supported 163 enterprises, with more than 2,000 socio-biodiversity products available on the platform and approximately 123,000 items sold. Half of the participating businesses started selling online thanks to the initiative.

"By selling food, cosmetics, natural oils, and handicrafts, the program brings local knowledge into the digital world to strengthen the bioeconomy and generate a positive impact on communities. COP30 is a strategic space to present viable models that combine environmental conservation and economic development,"

says Laura Motta, Senior Sustainability Manager at Mercado Libre.

In addition to offering and delivering its products to consumers through a dedicated page on the marketplace, Biomas a um Clique offers training, benefits, visibility, and support in rebranding products. It also provides access to Mercado Envios Full with fee exemptions, legal support, and financial solutions via Mercado Pago, including management tools, so that the best of our biomes can reach all of Brazil.

"The bioeconomy is establishing itself as an agenda and one of the ways forward for the Amazon’s future. We are proud to be the largest bioeconomy marketplace in Brazil today,"

reinforces Laura Motta.

Mercado Libre also works in the Amazon region through financial education and cultural investment programs. Among the highlights is Ganhaê, Mercado Pago's entrepreneurship program, which expands access to financial education through digital content, mentoring, and management solutions. In 2025, the initiative featured a special edition, Ganhaê Amazônia: Preparing Belém for COP30, which supported businesses in the gastronomy, hospitality, and creative economy sectors with a practical learning journey on topics such as management, finance, marketing, and communication, as well as individualized support to address the specific challenges and needs of each entrepreneur.
