Environment

We leverage technology, data, and the capabilities of our ecosystem to improve operational efficiency, develop solutions, and mitigate climate risks, thereby strengthening the business’s resilience.

  • 17,500

low-emission vehicles (electric, ethanol, and biomethane) in our fleet

  • 2.3 million

routes run by low-emission vehicles in operation.

  • Over 90.7%

We take action today

To reduce the environmental impacts of our operations

We know that as we expand our operations, we must become increasingly efficient and innovative to reduce environmental impacts across the entire value chain. This is a path of continuous and collective improvement, with many challenges ahead in a dynamic and rapidly growing sector. But our focus remains clear: the time to act is now.
To accelerate the development of more efficient solutions and reduce our environmental footprint at every stage of the value chain, we focus on four complementary areas: sustainable mobility, material circularity, packaging, and sustainable operations.
We manage the environmental impact of our operations through innovative and scalable solutions and measure our carbon footprint across its three scopes using internationally recognized methodologies. Every year, we refine the calculation to make it more accurate and aligned with reality, and we involve our suppliers in this work. This allows us to identify and focus on initiatives where our actions are most relevant and where the potential for scale is greatest.
We also assess physical and transition climate risks, including potential impacts related to extreme events on infrastructure and logistics operations.

Impact stories

Juan Pablo Santos - Transportation Manager, Chile.png

"No Mercado Livre temos o compromisso de crescer gerando o menor impacto ambiental possível. As vans elétricas nos permitem fazer isso e entregar em 24 a 48 horas."

Juan Pablo Santos, Transportation Manager, Chile

“Delta Energia is a partner of Mercado Libre and has proudly supplied 100% renewable energy to 11 of the company’s warehouses since 2020. By April 2025, the total consumption was more than 123,000 MWh of clean electricity, from different sources, such as solar, wind, and biomass. This amount of energy would be enough to power a city the size of Campos do Jordão for an entire year.”

Our initiatives

Energía tmb.png

Sustainable Operations

We have made progress in energy and water efficiency, expanding the use of renewable sources, and managing socio-environmental and climate risks.

Mobilidad tmb.png

Sustainable Mobility

We minimized the impact of logistics operations by expanding the fleet of electric and low-emission fuel vehicles, along with partnerships that enable us to adopt innovative solutions.

Circularidad de materiales tmb.png

Material and packaging circularity

We seek solutions to reintegrate resources into the production cycle, promoting material circularity. We act on three fronts: reduce, replace, and recycle, while raising awareness throughout the value chain.
