Mercado Libre presents its 2025 Impact Report
With more than 9.5 million SMEs in its ecosystem and 218 million shipments with reduced emissions, the company highlights how it combines growth with inclusion and environmental efficiency.

Social and Economic Impact
Mercado Libre publishes its 2025 Impact Report, providing insights into how the company’s growth is accompanied by productive inclusion, environmental efficiency, and stronger trust in its digital ecosystem across Latin America.
With over 25 years of history, the company brings together more than 9.5 million entrepreneurs and SMEs that use its e-commerce and fintech solutions. For more than 50% of online sellers, the platform is their main source of income.
These entrepreneurs were responsible for generating more than 150,000 jobs directly linked to their operations on Mercado Libre, reinforcing the role of digitalization as a driver of economic development.
Mercado Pago also plays a central role in this expansion. More than 60% of SMEs within the ecosystem report having accessed credit for the first time through the financial services platform, which has also become the main payment collection method for a large portion of these businesses.
Scale and operational efficiency
Over the past year, Mercado Libre recorded a 46.8% increase in its workforce. The company reached the highest engagement level in its history, with a 93% participation rate among employees. These results reinforce the consistency of its organizational culture even as it expands quickly.
In 2025, the company opened 32 large-scale logistics sites and developed 65 last-mile projects, including new facilities and expansions. This network connects sellers and buyers quickly, securely, and efficiently.
During the period, Mercado Libre delivered 218 million packages with reduced emissions, supported by a fleet of 17,500 low-emission vehicles — 13,000 powered by alternative fuels — covering 2.3 million routes. Currently, 75% of fast deliveries are completed in under 48 hours, reflecting continuous improvements in logistics efficiency.
At the same time, the company advanced in climate risk management by assessing the impact of extreme weather events on its infrastructure and adjusting response and planning protocols.
Supporting local development and communities
Mercado Libre promotes the inclusion of small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, and historically underserved segments through country-specific programs aimed at strengthening financial, commercial, and digital capabilities, while reducing access barriers related to geographic, educational, and technological factors.
Through e-commerce, the company develops initiatives that connect local economies with the digital ecosystem, tailored to each country. In Brazil, “Biomas a um Click” integrates socio-biodiversity ventures into e-commerce. In Mexico, “CLIC, el impulso de lo nuestro” supports entrepreneurs and cooperatives in their digitalization and growth.
At Mercado Pago, the focus is on making financial education tools more accessible. In Argentina, over 8,000 young people participated in the second edition of the Financial Education Olympics, organized in partnership with Junior Achievement — an initiative that promotes learning in personal finance, digital security, and responsible money management.
The ecosystem also mobilizes in response to emergencies. Throughout 2025, the community response protocol was activated in various situations, including the floods in Bahía Blanca, where USD 420,000 was raised through Mercado Pago’s “Donate” button, enabling simple and secure contributions to support community recovery.
