Sustainable Fashion
One eye on the look, the other on sustainability
Mercado Libre boosts sustainable fashion ventures in Brazil.

Boosting sustainable fashion brands
To ensure that more of the products offered on the marketplace contribute to generating positive socio-environmental impacts, Mercado Libre is promoting 29 fashion brands that adopt production processes with less environmental impact. Through an extensive development journey, the entrepreneurs will receive training, mentoring and optimized access to the resources of the Mercado Libre ecosystem.
The journey includes a first stage of knowledge, with classes on sales; fashion trends and sustainability; production of visual content for fashion, as well as exchanges of experiences and exposure to cases with brands in the sector. Next, participants will receive individual mentoring to develop their commercial strategy within Mercado Libre and collective mentoring on techniques for creating a good pitch.
In the final stage, 10 brands will be selected to present an online pitch for evaluation by a panel of experts. The three that stand out the most will be recognized at a face-to-face event and will receive seed capital of up to R$10,000 to accelerate their business.
"We have been working since 2019 to bring together and offer consumers the largest curation of sustainable products in Latin America. At the same time, Mercado Libre is increasingly becoming a reference platform in the fashion segment. We have combined these two strategies to boost businesses that are economically viable, offer an attractive range of products in line with marketplace consumer trends, and meet the social and environmental criteria of our sustainable products section"
