New edition of the Financial Education Olympiads in Argentina
Driven by Mercado Pago and Junior Achievement, the initiative will reach 10,000 young people with proposals on personal finance, digital security, and the responsible use of money

Strengthening financial skills
Mercado Pago and Junior Achievement Argentina are launching the third edition of the Financial Education Olympiads, an educational initiative designed to strengthen the financial and digital skills of young people across the country.
Targeted at secondary school students aged 15 to 18 with internet access, the initiative combines classroom learning, collaborative work, and both virtual and in-person challenges. Supported by their teachers and Junior Achievement facilitators, participants form teams to solve assignments and present proposals on financial education, digital security, and the responsible use of money.
In this edition, artificial intelligence tools are also being incorporated to support the learning process, along with activities to involve families in discussions about responsible personal finance management.
In previous editions, 90% of participants reported having incorporated key personal finance concepts, and 80% said this knowledge would be useful in their future.
The award ceremony will take place in October at Mercado Libre’s offices in Buenos Aires. The three winning teams will receive tablets as study tools, and each winning school will be awarded 10 computers to equip their classrooms.
“We design initiatives that combine financial and digital education so that more young people acquire the skills needed to make informed decisions, manage their money with greater confidence, and navigate the digital world safely.”
