Over six weeks, participants from the states of Mexico, Jalisco, and Nuevo León in Mexico had access to business management training, personalized mentoring, and the opportunity to receive seed capital offered by Mercado Pago. They also received payment terminals to start accepting digital payments and better manage their sales. The program also helped build an online community of women entrepreneurs to share experiences and strengthen support networks.
“At Mercado Pago, we believe that access to digital and financial tools is key to driving the economic development of women and their communities"
The results
Over the last two years, more than 5,400 women across Latin America — including 1,500 in Mexico — have been trained. “Thanks to our partnership with Mercado Pago, we continue to scale this impact and deliver concrete tools to more women entrepreneurs in different regions of the country,” said Vania Noguera, Project Manager at Emprende Pro Mujer. The results highlight the program's impact: 65% of women entrepreneurs increased their sales, 53% improved their expense management, 96% adopted savings habits, and 93% developed new leadership skills.
With this initiative, Mercado Pago and Pro Mujer reaffirmed their commitment to women's economic autonomy and digital inclusion, providing them with the tools they need to grow their businesses and contribute to the development of their communities.
