Mercado Libre announces results of "The Best of Brazil is Coming" call for proposals
Find out about the 38 cultural, social and sporting initiatives that will be supported by Mercado Libre in Brazil.
Tax incentives
Creativity, Brazilian identity, and sustainable development. These are the keywords defining the cultural, social, and sports initiatives that will be supported by Mercado Libre in 2024 through fiscal incentive laws in Brazil. In total, 38 projects were selected through the "The Best of Brazil is Coming" call for proposals, which focused on projects promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the celebration of national identity as pathways to creating opportunities for everyone, leaving no one behind.
In the cultural domain alone, over R$10 million will be allocated to initiatives that stimulate local economies and contribute to the appreciation and preservation of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous cultures, traditional community lifestyles, Quilombola communities, rural areas, and peripheral regions, or even to the regionalization of national artistic production.
Since 2017, Mercado Libre has actively embraced its responsibilities in terms of taxes by leveraging fiscal incentives outlined in the legislation of each respective country. This approach directs funds towards projects that align with the company's strategy and engagement in areas such as culture, sports, health, and advocacy for the rights of children, adolescents, and the elderly in the communities in which the company operates.
