Mercado Libre and Dendezeiro launch a collection celebrating Brazil’s biomes

The first-of-its-kind initiative features pieces co-created with local artists, with 100% of profits going to the Origens Brasil network.
Mercado Libre and Dendezeiro have teamed up to launch Biomas FC, a six-shirt collection inspired by Brazil’s biomes that blends fashion, creativity, sustainability, and the world of football. The collection comes with a commitment: 100% of sales profits will go to the Origens Brasil network, supporting ethical businesses that protect the forest and its communities while keeping products’ origins transparent and traceable.
The collection builds on Mercado Libre’s work to advance the sociobioeconomy through Biomes in a Click, a pioneering program that, since 2020, has supported the commercialization of more than 300 associations, cooperatives, and small and medium-sized businesses, expanding market access and generating income and opportunities across Brazil’s biomes. More than 2,000 products are available on the program’s page, with over 183,000 products sold, generating over R$10 million in revenue for the businesses involved.
“Valuing Brazil’s biomes means recognizing the power of the people, stories, knowledge, and flavors that make Brazil unique,” says Laura Motta, Senior Sustainability Manager at Mercado Libre. “We want more and more people to connect with this world and these products, and contribute to generating income in these territories,” she adds. The first Mercado Libre Basics collection celebrates Brazil’s biomes through fashion and art, featuring pieces co-created by independent artists such as André Hulk (Amazon), Emerson Rocha (Cerrado), Pedro Gutierre (Atlantic Forest), Luize Santiago (Caatinga), Thamy (Pantanal), and Lídia Brancher (Pampas). Each artist translated elements of their region’s flora and fauna into contemporary designs.
