About the initiative

The Entrepreneur Effect

The Impactos que importam (Impact that Matters) study, conducted in partnership with Euromonitor, assessed how our solutions ecosystem is creating value and driving inclusive development in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

The 2023 study, based on socioeconomic impact data collected from over 4,000 Mercado Libre sellers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, as well as consulting firms servicing these sellers and Mercado Pago resellers, helps us grasp the tangible outcomes of what we refer to as “the entrepreneurial effect”.

By focusing on small and medium entrepreneurs, Mercado Libre was able to scale its contribution to job creation, economic growth, financial inclusion and digital transformation of SMEs in these countries. The research captured the virtuous effect of our ecosystem as a driver of regional development.
